Family and acceptance of Islam
Sa‘id was the son of Zayd ibn Amr, remembered for seeking monotheistic belief before Muhammad’s ﷺ mission. Sa‘id and his wife Fatimah bint al-Khattab accepted Islam in Makkah.

Place in tradition
Sunni tradition includes him among the ten companions promised Paradise. His biography is less extensive than those of several contemporaries, so a concise account is preferable to adding unsupported episodes.
