His house accommodated Muhammad ﷺ and other migrants. Biographical accounts identify several companions who stayed there, making the household an important part of the practical welcome offered by the Ansar.

A brief Medinan period
Kulthum died shortly after the Hijrah. His surviving biography is short, but his hospitality places him at a significant moment in the formation of the community around Quba.
