Their children included Hasan and Husayn, through whom much of Muhammad’s ﷺ family lineage continued. Fatimah holds a prominent place in Sunni and Shia devotion and in accounts of the Prophet’s ﷺ family.

She died within months of her father in 632. Reports differ over her birth date and over events surrounding her final illness and disputes after Muhammad’s ﷺ death; those differences should not be flattened into a single undisputed narrative.
