Identity in the sources
Al-Qa‘qa‘ ibn Amr al-Tamimi appears in histories of the early Muslim campaigns. Some biographical scholars count him among Muhammad’s ﷺ companions, while others do not consider his personal meeting with Muhammad ﷺ established.

Campaign narratives
Accounts of the fighting in Iraq give him a role at Qadisiyya and in subsequent operations. The extent of his individual achievements depends on reports whose reliability is debated; precise numbers and dramatic battlefield claims are therefore omitted.
