Life and setting
Adi first opposed Muhammad ﷺ. After his sister Safana was released from captivity and returned to him, he visited Madinah and accepted Islam. Accounts differ over the exact year.

Work and legacy
He later settled in Kufa and supported Ali during the civil conflicts. He also transmitted hadith about religious practice. His earlier Christian background is part of his biography, not a reason to hide his later contribution.
