Care after Mu’ta
When Ja‘far died at Mu’ta, Muhammad ﷺ showed particular concern for his children. Abdullah was still young during these events, placing him among the companions whose memories began in childhood.

Adult life and reputation
He later supported his uncle Ali and became known for generosity. He transmitted hadith both from Muhammad ﷺ and from members of his family, including his mother. Sources differ over his death date.
